Fun Fact: I have had several bad luck automobile experiences. I was driving a friend's car when it caught on fire and burned to a crisp, I was the pasanger of vehicle in Africa that was involved in a head-on collision with a rhinoceros, and I once bought a pickup truck that threw a rod before I even got it home.
Testimony: I never doubted the existence of God but up until my freshman year of college I was living in pursuit of my own success and glory. In 1997, as a freshman in college, I met a couple of guys that were unlike any Christians that I had ever met. They took their faith seriously yet were not judgemental or weird. They inspired me to learn more about the Bible and what it meant to have a relationship with God. At a men's retreat that they invited me to I heard Jesus's call in Matthew 4:19 to "Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." I realized that I was not living for him, that he wanted to be with me, and that he had a purpose for me. From then on, I have been seeking to pursue God's will rather than my own. I hope that my life is centered on fishing for men rather than fishing for my own success.
Maria and I met as freshmen in college but did not begin dating until our senior year. We married in 2003 after dating for two years. We believe that our greatest responsibility is parenting our four kids. We have been blessed to adopt two boys in addition to our two biological girls. We love watching them learn and grow and we can't wait to see what type of men and women they become.
